Sell Your Salvage Vehicle in Edmonton

Owning a vehicle with a salvage or non-repairable status is awkward. You can't register it, you can't drive it, and most buyers won't touch it. We buy salvage vehicles as they are, so you don't have to rebuild it, book an inspection or find a specialist buyer yourself.

The full cost

Rebuild It or Sell It?

A salvage vehicle in Alberta can go back on the road, but only after it's been repaired and passes a salvage vehicle inspection at a licensed facility. Before you go down that road, think about the full cost:

If you're a mechanic or have cheap access to parts, rebuilding can make sense. For most owners, selling as-is is less risk and less hassle.

  • Parts and labour for the repair, often more than first estimated once damage is fully exposed
  • The salvage inspection fee, plus any repeat inspections if it fails the first time
  • Receipts. Inspectors may ask where parts came from, so you'll need to keep records
  • Lower resale value. A car that's been rebuilt sells for noticeably less than one with a clean history, and some buyers won't consider it at all
  • Insurance. Some insurers limit coverage on rebuilt vehicles
Parts and metal value

Non-Repairable Vehicles

A non-repairable vehicle can never be registered in Alberta again, no matter how well it's fixed. Its value is entirely in parts and metal. We buy these too. Engine, transmission, doors, interior and electronics that weren't damaged can all be reused, so non-repairable doesn't mean low value if the damage was limited to one area.

Fair salvage pricing

What Affects a Salvage Offer

  • Status: salvage usually beats non-repairable
  • Damage location: a rear hit often leaves the engine and transmission untouched
  • Airbag deployment: adds cost to any rebuild
  • Model and age: newer, popular models have more valuable parts
  • Flood or fire: these affect electronics and interior across the whole vehicle
Rebuilt status

Already Rebuilt?

If you've already repaired and inspected a salvage vehicle and it now carries a rebuilt status, we can still make an offer. It will be based on the car's condition and the reduced market for rebuilt vehicles, but you skip the hassle of explaining the history to private buyers.

FAQs

FAQs

Can I sell a salvage vehicle privately in Alberta?

Yes, but you must disclose its status, and the buyer can't register it until it passes inspection. That limits your buyer pool a lot.

Do you need the insurance paperwork?

It helps. Have whatever ownership and status documents the insurer gave you.

Do you buy salvage vehicles from out of province?

If the vehicle is in the Edmonton area, call us and we'll check what paperwork is needed.
